      FESTIVAL OF GANJAM:

           " Ganjam" is a district which is located in the state of Odisha. Basically Ganjam is based towards the Southern Part of Odisha (South Odisha).

    

         There are many festivals and many cultures in India and in Odisha.But some of the festival'S  and cultures of Ganjam are truly different from other festivals that cannot be imagine or compared,Which is Budhi Thakuranii Festival(Budhi Thakuraani Yatraa).        

                      

BUDHI THAKURANI YATRA:

                 

         

            "Budhi Thakurani Yatra" we can say it as a festival or a culture that unites or gathers devotees from all around the state of "odisha", and also from the neighbour state of "Andhra Pradesh" and "Telangana".
  
      "Budhi Thakurani yatra" is held in "Berhampur" city("The Silk City Of Odisha") of district Ganjam.The Thakurani yatra was held in Berhampur recently in the month of April 2019.
The festival is held for one month.Unfortunately but it is not held every year,it is held or organize in the gap of two years.Recently it was held in the year of 2017,and then it is held in the year of 2019 in the month of April.The ("Ghata parikrama") is done in the different locality or area of bada bazaar upto 28 days.

        
        

                 
             The Thakurani yatra is continously held since 300 years ago.By the grace of goddess "Budhi Thakurani" it is celebrated till today.The amazing attraction of this festival off course the Goddess Budhi Thakurani herself  is a main attraction.But there are some ("manasika dhari"),the devotees who dress up themselves as different manner as Tiger,hanuman,God Ram,Krishna,Ravana,and many more are there, which cannot be expressed through words until and unless you visit this jatra for the blessings of Goddess.     

           

THE TIGER:                                                      

               

           As we can see that in this picture tiger's are standing with different positions.It is the dressing sense like a "tiger" of  a devotees who is one of the "manasika dhari" in this thakurani yatra.The most difficult and painful dressing in this festival is to dressing like a tiger,Because they have to dance like a tiger and this is called as Tiger dance("Bagho Nacho"),behave like a tiger and then they have to visit different locality or area of  the Berhampur city throughout the day in a hot summer weather,which is really very painful as well as enjoyable to see their dance.But by the grace of goddess "Maa Budhi Thakurani" the devotees dressing as Tiger overcome's the Pain.



           As the end of "Thakurani yatra" come closer with the end of month,the large number of devotees come to take blessings from "Maa Thakurani" because then after 2 years the festival or the Thakurani yatra will held.
        
       

     

       "Maa Thakurani" will go to her place.Then we all devotees have to wait again for 2 years for "BUDHI THAKURANI YATRA".
